Anna University Counselling 2018
The Government of Tamilnadu announced that Anna University Counselling 2018 will be conducted in three phases online. For the past 21 years, students were coming to Chennai to attend the counselling. Now the whole process will be through the Online portal. Hence, the students don’t need to come to Chennai to attend the counselling.
TNEA Felicitation centres:
The government agreed to set up 44 centres across the state at least one centre per district. Students shall apply on their own or get the assistance from these felicitation centres to apply.
Registration
Students shall register themselves with their Basic bio-data, HSC Hall Ticket, Contact Details and Community information.
Application Fee:
General Candidates: Rs.500
SC/ST Candidates: Rs.250 (On production of community certificate)
Certificate Verification
After the registration, the certificate verification will be done by the authorities in TNEA Felicitation Centres. Students must visit the centres along with their original certificates. More details on this will be updated very soon.
Rank List and Random Number:
Rank list is a merit list prepared by the Anna University for the eligible candidates. This list is prepared primarily based on the cutoff marks. If more than one candidate has same cutoff mark then the elder person will be given preference. Even if their date of birth is same the fourth subject mark will be considered. After exercising the previous methods the random number used to resolve this conflict.
Online Counselling:
The counselling will be conducted in five rounds. The students will be grouped based on cutoff marks. And they shall select the colleges of their choices. Out of the choices they prefer, the available college will be allotted to them. More information on this would be updated in a separate post very soon.
Initial Deposit:
Students attending online counselling must pay Rs.5000 as initial deposit. This fee will be deducted from the original college fee.
Communication:
At every stage of counselling, the students will be communicated through SMS/Email.
Special counselling / Differently Abled Students Counselling will be conducted as in-person counselling. More details will be added in future.
