The salient features of the Campaign includes • All children in the age group (0-5) years should be given 2 drops of polio vaccine. • Even if a child was immunized recently under routine Immunization schedule, the child should be given polio drops on the campaign days also. • Day-1 17.01.2021 (Sunday) Booth based and House to House coverage with all COVID-19 appropriate behavior by the staff and public. Day-2 18.01.2021 (Monday) House to House coverage with all COVID-19 appropriate behavior by the staff and public. Day-3 19.01.2021 (Tuesday) House to House coverage with all COVID-19 appropriate behavior by the staff and public.
I
am to state that one round of Pulse Polio Immunization (PPI) campaign
will be held on 17-01-2021 (Sunday). Government of India has planned
nationwide campaign in all States in order to sustain Polio Free Status.
About 40,000 immunization booths will be established in Anganwadi
Centres, Government Hospitals, Primary Health Centres and in other
important places. Tranait booths will be also set up at Bus Stands and
Railway Stations to cover mobile population on the campaign days. Mobile
booths are also functioning on campaign days to cover remote /
inaccessible areas. Besides Public Health Department staff,
approximately 2 lakh personnel are being drawn from various departments
for this Mega Campaign. About,70 lakh children of under 5 years are
expected to be benefited by this programme.
